Creating sustainable access to clean solar energy instantly changes the hardships of a life in remote mountain rainforest communities completely. Families experience an immediate positive impact in many areas of their life. They can do their house chores without any time pressure. Children can study, do their homework, and play safely without the risk of fires caused by candlelight. Energy access creates new opportunities, provides dignity, and changes the trajectory of every single person in the community for the better. This is even more so for historically marginalized groups, such as Indigenous peoples. Evelyn, a 53-Cabécar Indigenous woman, shares her story of how she enjoys the benefits of having light and electricity in her home now.
