Old wisdom, new paths
Area of Impact
Indigenous & Community Leadership
We work with Indigenous and community leaders who steward the protection and restoration of their territories, cultures and ancestral knowledge bringing people into nourishing, reciprocal relationships with each other and the Earth.
What we do
Elevate Indigenous knowledge and land stewardship
We strengthen Indigenous and community leaders who model ways of being in regenerative relationship with the Earth, and who serve as knowledge keepers, tradition bearers and are caretakers of local and global biodiversity.
Recognize women as custodians of Earth-based wisdom
We prioritize women-led processes that bring people into nurturing, reciprocal relationships with each other and the Earth. Indigenous women are our key partners as they hold and amplify Earth-based wisdom and pave the way for social and ecological regeneration.
Advocate for climate, environmental and social justice
We advocate for climate, environmental and social justice and the recognition of the rights, cultural heritage, land tenure and contributions of Indigenous peoples, women and youth. This work influences local, national and international policies for the benefit of all.
Why Indigenous and Community Leadership?
Indigenous and local communities have an essential role in protecting and preserving Nature.

Action
Indigenous leaders and especially women model ways of being in kinship with the living Earth, serving as knowledge keepers, sharers and restorers in their communities and beyond.

We work together with more than eight Indigenous- and women-led partner organizations, strengthening their institutional and individual learning, management capacities, financial stability, outreach and advocacy for social, economic and environmental justice.
