Transforming Systems from the Bottom-up
Area of Impact
Holistic Empowerment
We strengthen holistic local empowerment through the revitalization of the Indigenous bioeconomy, a regenerative, forest-based economy uniting traditional agroforestry, ancient knowledge and innovative production that keeps forests standing and allows life to thrive.
What we do
Support a regenerative, forest-based bioeconomy
We support a regenerative, forest-based bioeconomy based on ancestral production systems that embrace both traditional and innovative regenerative practices, permaculture design methods, and strengthen the artisan cultures of Indigenous people
Strengthen organizational capacity
We strengthen Indigenous-led organizations and traditional support networks by building prudent administrative and financial management capacities for the creation of new individual and collective opportunities for sustainable livelihoods
Establish Indigenous-led ecological markets
We establish and support ecologically regenerative, community-owned local exchange platforms, markets and cooperatives. We work to enable value-creation and market access and promote the growth of environmentally and culturally responsible value chains.
Why Holistic Empowerment?
An Indigenous bioeconomy revitalizes forests, families and futures.
